Kei Yan Primary School Alumni Concern Group attended and presented in Central and Western District Council Meeting. We make representations for the request for Antiquities and Monuments Office to conduct grading assessment for Hong Kong Central Hospital at Lower Albert Road to protect the important historic building in Central and Western District, and to explore its reopening as a small district clinic to serve the local community.

Amendment to Matter Shown on the Plan
Revision to the building height restriction stipulated for the northern portion of “Government, Institution or Community (1)” (“G/IC(1)”) zone at the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Compound at Lower Albert Road from 135mPD to 80mPD.
Amendments to the Notes of the Plan
Revision to the Remarks of the Notes for the “G/IC” zone by adding a requirement specifying that on land designated “G/IC(1)”, any new development or redevelopment of an existing building(s) requires permission from the Town Planning Board under section 16 of the Town Planning Ordinance.

During the meeting, councillor Ted Hui put forward a provisional motion, and unanimously approved the request to preserve the buildings in Bishop Hill site and to grade the buildings

We are writing to request to upgrade (i) the Bishop’s House to be declared Monument from grade 1 and (ii) Old S.K.H. Kei Yan Primary School be grade 1 from grade 2. To nominate (iii) the Old Kei Yan Primary School campus includes Ming Hua Theological College and John and Mary Building be given overall Grade 1 corresponding to the adjacent St. Paul Church (Grade 1) and old S.K.H. Kei Yan Primary school mentioned above. To propose (iv) the Hong Kong Central Hospital be given Grade 3 ratings by the Antiquities Advisory Board.
